Product description

High-quality polyurethane cork-based underlay material for impact sound insulation under glued-to-the-substrate wooden floors. Suitable for gluing to concrete or wooden substrates with polymer-based (Berger-Seidlen M1, M1X and M1P) parquet adhesives. The adhesive is selected according to the requirements of the parquet to be installed on top.


Sound attenuation when used with a 10 mm thick parquet floor is 19 dB (ISO 140-8) (declared by the factory). Technical data on the manufacturer’s website


Gluing instructions:


The impact sound insulation is glued to a sufficiently flat (max deviations 3 mm / 2 m), Use a suitable adhesive comb for a carefully cleaned, dry and strong concrete surface. Of the ready-made adhesive combs, B2 is the most suitable in terms of teeth. The adhesive should “wet” the base of the impact sound insulation completely. The adhesive should be combed evenly so that the adhesion is good throughout. When gluing with a comb with too large teeth, the adhesive consumption will be higher and the adhesive may come through the impact sound insulation.


The mat can be cut with a carpet knife or scissors. The mat is quite tough, so it is worth using a plywood sheet or similar as a cutting surface and a ruler to help you cut. 


The adhesive is applied to an area the width of the sheet at a time. Larger areas are easiest to do by opening the roller little by little as the adhesive is applied. At the same time, the weight of the roller presses the mat firmly against the surface. The initial and If necessary, smooth-bottomed weights should be used at the end to prevent the sheet from lifting off. If a roller cannot be used as a weight or does not press the carpet firmly enough to the substrate, the carpet should be pressed to the substrate over its entire area after gluing. Avoid walking on the carpet before the adhesive has fully hardened. The next sheet is installed in a butt joint with the previous one. Parquet can be glued onto the carpet after 1-2 days, depending on the humidity and temperature conditions and the type of adhesive. Polymer-based adhesives harden by reacting with air humidity, so dry room air slows down the reaction. The reaction also slows down at cooler temperatures. The prerequisite for a successful parquet installation is the correct installation conditions that correspond to normal living conditions; temperature 20-24 degrees and humidity 35…50% RH.
